About IHCTM
IHCTM (Institute of Hotel, Cargo and Tourism Management) has been the pioneer of Travel and Tourism, Air Cargo and Courier as well as Airline Management programmes in India. The first ever workshop in Travel and Tourism as well as Hotel Management was conducted way back in 1971. Since then IHCTM has grown to be one of the premier institutes not only in India but also round the world attracting students from all parts of the globe. IHCTM is an allied member of TAAI (Travel Agents Association of India) and TAFI (Travel Agents Federation of India), and the training programmes offered are contemporary backed by professional expertise on destinations by Namaste Tourism, an initiative of COMPACT TRAVELS. Subhash Motwani, Director of IHCTM also heads Compact Travels and has been a faculty for Tourism and IATA qualifications since 1988. Starting 2018, IHCTM now offers contemporary and updated TBM (Tourism Business Management) instead of the IATA programmes.
International Programmes at IHCTM
IHCTM has the unique distinction of being the first authorised training centre around the world to be authorised to conduct 6 IATA qualifications comprising of 3 IATA /Travel and 3 IATA/Cargo qualifications . In 1998, IHCTM was the first approved centre in India to offer the International Tourism qualifications from City & Guilds, U.K. and the CRS/GDS programmes from VIASINC, USA. IHCTM has been offering courses of IATA since 1993 until 2017.
With the changing trends of the Travel and Tourism Industry, with effect from 2018, IHCTM in association with Namaste Tourism now offers an integrated Entrepreneurship Programme of its own to assist aspiring professionals to be destination specialist and start their own home based tour planning organisation qualifying in a wide range of niche destinations. The course titled TBM (Tourism Business Management) covers facets of tourism where the tourism aspirant can either be an entrepreneur or work in Managerial position in the Travel and Tourism Industry.
